At 21, Michael Buono released Slow It Down EP, a collection of honest, hopeful, and piano-driven indie pop sounds. Shortly after, he packed up his life and moved 3,000 miles west of his hometown of Arlington, Virginia. While in San Francisco, he often doubted his own self worth, and slowly lost hope as he stumbled through painful breakups, loneliness, and the challenge of meeting people in a post-college world. Through these tough times, Michael turned back to songwriting to communicate the feelings he's always wanted to express, but for one reason or another, are hard to say. These are the emotions captured in his newly released second album, Lost. Lost is broken, vulnerable, and a powerful tribute to those who don't yet have it all figured out.
Michael turned to his favorite influences to find a musical backdrop for these emotions; Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen were his childhood favorites, and artists like Ben Rector and Jon Bellion have been some recent inspirations as well. The result is an album that explores pop, rock, and indie vibes while remaining connected by a single emotional thread.
Lost is now available everywhere.
